Invest In Those Who Keep Our Communities Safe

Washington State corrections employees put their lives on the line to protect the public.

Many corrections employees are military veterans who have served our country and are continuing that public service back home. They know how important it is to invest in corrections so that our state’s prisons are safe and our communities are strong.

I urge the Washington Legislature to fully fund the corrections contract and invest in the men and women who keep our communities safe.

  • Please fund the contract. It has been at least 6 years since there was a raise. The interest arbitrator came up with a fair wage based on the states figures.
  • I’m tired of legislators lining their own pockets, while the DOC employees stuff left to support their family.
  • It appears that society does not want to deal with these people ,but Correctional staff do daily. Support our contract. Thank you
  • We are not making hamburgers in Seattle. If there are pay increases we should make more than a McDonald’s manager.
  • I was once was a Washington state employee and as a single parent I qualified for food stamps. The working poor deserve better. State priorities should be to pay livable wages to state employees. Prisons make a lot of profit for big business and very little money is returned back into the correctional system for better conditions for prisoners or its employees. It’s time to prioritize people not profits for the greedy money makers.
  • Sign our PETITION in support of funding WA State corrections employees' contract. They risk their lives to protect us!
  • Fund our contract!!!
  • I support this cause and sign my name in support
  • We have worked for 7 years without a pay increase, and taken a 3% pay cut for one year so the state can meet its budget. Myself, I have worked for the D.O.C for over 11 years. In 2014 my salary was $48,331. Daily we come to work with the possibility of never seeing our family’s again. Would you work for that? All we ask for is a fare wage increase.
  • Pass the Budget with our well deserved and long over due.
